Late 18th century sampler by Ellizabeth Williams, aged 14, finished July 13, 1798, worked in black thread on linen ground with alphabet, numbers and birth dates and baptisms of her ten siblings, 38 x 51cm. NB: Very browned.
Victorian sampler worked in polychrome silk threads by Jane Quine Douglas, July 10, 1832(?), with verse, landscape with animals, birds, house, trees and shepherd and vases of flowers surrounded by stylised floral border, 52 x 43cm, contained in rosewood frame with gilt slip. NB: Very discoloured and browned.
